RCE Skills Academy runs a nine-week summer basketball day camp at RCE North in Huntsville, Alabama — themed weeks built around the fundamentals every young player needs.

How the program is structured
A clean arc across the summer.
Each week focuses on a clear set of skills. Coaches build from foundational to more advanced as the summer progresses — but every week is age-appropriate and welcoming to new campers.
Weeks 1–2: Foundations
Ball handling, two-hand control, and the shooting form pieces — hand placement, balance, follow-through. A clean start for any player.
Weeks 3–4: All-Around & Footwork
Core skills (passing, layups, defense) and the footwork that ties everything together: jump stops, pivots, triple-threat.
Weeks 5–6: Scoring & Movement
Layups, finishing, and combining ball handling with footwork. Two-ball work and combinations get introduced here.
Weeks 7–8: Review & Combine
A second pass at the core skills, then a focused week on combining shooting and ball handling off the dribble.
Week 9: Complete Fundamentals
A culminating week covering the full skill set — a strong finish before the school year starts.
Built for ages 7–14
Younger and older campers get different drill progressions within the same week. "Advanced" weeks emphasize skill complexity, not prerequisites.

Drills are scaled to be challenging and repeatable for 7–14 year olds, with coaching cues built in.

Coached sessions at RCE North, with clear drop-off and pickup procedures.
Take-home progress notes
Coaches share key cues and progress notes so players can keep practicing between weeks.

Parent communication templates and a clear point of contact for questions during the summer.
